Dr. Henson serves SEU as a Professor of Leadership. His main areas of teaching are doctoral research, organizational leadership, and general business management.
Before joining SEU full-time in 2021, Dr. Henson served as a lead pastor in the Church of God for 15 years and is licensed as an Ordained Bishop. Since 2015, he has served multiple universities teaching organizational and Christian leadership, ministry, and biblical studies.

His greatest joy in higher education is seeing his students discover and develop their Divine Design and walk in their calling. He encourages students to exercise their voices through academic publications, research, and presentations. As a pastor and educator, he has a heart for Christian higher education: working with students to help them achieve their academic goals and providing pastoral encouragement.
Dr. Henson is passionate about the local church and is actively involved in ministry. He serves as a staff pastor at his local church while speaking in other venues throughout the year. He has served as a mentor and coach to pastors, educators, and Christian leaders on six continents, and, as the opportunity arises, he serves as a consultant for organizations and churches.
